OLD APPLETON -- Helen E. Schnurbusch, 104, formerly of Old Appleton, died Friday, May 6, 1994, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 26, 1889, in Perry County, daughter of William and Theresa Ponder. She and Joseph J. Schnurbusch were married May 4, 1908. He died June 8, 1964.

Schnurbusch was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Survivors include seven sons, Oscar, William Clarence and Albert Schnurbusch of St. Louis, Ruben and Raymond "Bob" Schnurbusch of Old Appleton, Harry "Jim" Schnurbusch of Jackson; three daughters, Bertha Unterreiner of Cape Girardeau, Laura Unterreiner of Uniontown, Betty Rellergert of St. Louis; 50 grandchildren; 94 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, four brothers and eight sisters.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Chapel in Perryville from 4-9 p.m. Sunday, and 6:30-9:30 a.m. Monday. The parish wake will be at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church, with the Rev. John Bolderson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
