HELEN DRAKE

CANALOU -- Helen B. Drake, 95, formerly of Canalou, died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1998, at Marantha Lodge Nursing Home in Springfield.

She was born June 23, 1903, at Canalou, daughter of Jesse and Lula Hinkle Bean. She and Grover Drake were married in 1917. He died in September 1969.

Drake was a member of Canalou Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Daphna Dorrell of Charleston, Carolyn Graham of Republic; two sisters, Veda Crain of Sikeston, Edith Greenlee of Texas; 26 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sons, a daughter, three brothers, a sister, and four grandsons.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Mike Cartwright officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
