Helen Marie Carver, 79, of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, June 26, 1996, at Fountainbleau Lodge.
She was born Dec. 12, 1916, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Walter H. and Beulah Schuck Meystedt. She and Lyall E. Carver were married May 20, 1944, in Cape Girardeau. He died Nov. 23, 1965.
The Carvers founded and operated Carver Floral Shop. She was a member of Old St. Vincent's Church, Daughters of Isabella, Exchange Club, and Choraliers.
She was a graduate of Central High School and Latimer Business College here. The Carvers lived in St. Louis and Hawaii, returning to Cape Girardeau after World War II.
Survivors include four nephews, Roy Meystedt of Cape Girardeau, Ronnie Meystedt of Carrollton, Texas, Michael Meystedt of San Antonio, Texas, Jack Meystedt of Bakersfield, Calif., and five great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Friday. Parish prayers will be at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Old St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Glenn Eftink officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
