CHARLESTON -- Helen Byrd, 88, of Charleston, died Thursday, June 13, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born Sept. 27, 1907, in Hickman, Ky., daughter of Tschudi Thompson and Annie Miller Herring Swayne. She and Thomas A. Byrd were married June 2, 1930.
Byrd was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Sikeston and Molly French Garden Club in Charleston.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Thomas and Hugh Byrd of Charleston, and two grandsons.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 4:30-8 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul Church, with the Rev. Brant V. Hazlett officiating. Entombment will be in the Byrd Family Mausoleum at IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
