HAZEL SCHLEM

MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Graveside service for Hazel Schlem of Mound City will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cairo City Cemetery in Villa Ridge. Dr. Larry L. Potts will officiate.

There is no visitation.

Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City is in charge of arrangements.

Schlem, 89, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at Daystar Care Center in Cairo.

She was born March 13, 1910, in Marshall County, Ky., daughter of William and Partha Carroll Sasseen. She and Charles F. Schlem were married May 6, 1928. He died in 1980.

Schlem was a member of Cairo Baptist Church and Order of Eastern Star, and had been active in the community. She was formerly of Cairo.

Survivors include a daughter, Pat Hudson of Mound City; two grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.
