Hazel Ruth Jackson, 84, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 19, 1930, in Hazen, Arkansas, to Lee and Odell Williams Ayers.
Hazel was a housekeeper for Delores Finch and a cook at the New Orleans Restaurant. She was a member of OES, attended Rhema Word International Church and was on the usher board.
Survivors include three sons, Calvin Lee (Patricia) Jackson of Douglasville, Georgia, Harold (Jermaine) Jackson of McKinney, Texas, and Larry (Arlene) Jackson of Perryville, Missouri; five daughters, Delois Jackson of Cape Girardeau, Brenda Jackson of Atlanta, Cheryl (Lamont) Wren of Irving, Texas, Theresa Strange of McKinney and Drunetta (Derome) Clark of Garland, Texas; a brother, Charles Dale Ayers of Jackson; a sister, Louise Colon of Cape Girardeau; 22 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and sisters- and brothers-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pearl Junior Jackson; a sister, Adell Jackson; a grandson, Arby Jackson; a granddaughter, Keyoun DeAnn Blissett; and a daughter-in-law, Sherry Jackson.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at Christ Church of the Heartland.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
