CHARLESTON -- Hazel Ellen Brownlee, 91, of Charleston died Saturday, June 20, 1998, at her home. She was born Dec. 12, 1906, at Enid, Okla., daughter of John Allen and Jennie Smith Lupton. She and Urban Brownlee were married Aug. 26, 1933. He died Jan. 21, 1988...

CHARLESTON -- Hazel Ellen Brownlee, 91, of Charleston died Saturday, June 20, 1998, at her home.

She was born Dec. 12, 1906, at Enid, Okla., daughter of John Allen and Jennie Smith Lupton. She and Urban Brownlee were married Aug. 26, 1933. He died Jan. 21, 1988.

She taught school in the Van Buren, Ark., school district until her retirement. She then moved to Charleston in 1969.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Clevenger of Charleston.

Friends may call at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

Graveside funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Grace Lawn Cemetery in Van Buren.
