Hattie Frances Erwin, 81, of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, July 25, 1992 at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born on May 23, 1911 in Poplar Bluff, the daughter of Rayford Penrod and Della Gossett Penrod.
She married Herbert S. Erwin on Sept. 15, 1966 in Flint, Mich. He survives.
She was employed for 27 years at General Motors Corp., retiring in 1971. She was a member of the Day Spring Missionary Baptist Church.
Other survivors are two stepsons, Houston Erwin of Buchannon, Mich. and L.E. Erwin of Millington, Mich.; two brothers, Raymond L. Penrod of Hermann and Joe Penrod of Midway, Ark.; six step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
One brother and two sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call today from 4-8 p.m. at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the chapel with the Rev. Steven Francis officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
