CHARLESTON -- Haskell L. Carver, 91, of Charleston, died Friday, Nov. 8, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 6, 1905, in West Plains, son of the late Mann and Hettie Bailey Carver. He lived in Mississippi County most of his life, working for Frank Lair Furniture and Undertaking Company and Shelby Funeral Home in Charleston.
He married Estal Holifield on Sept. 7, 1923. She survives him.
He is also survived by two sons: Clifford B. Carver, of Blytheville, Ark., and LeRoy Carver, of Tupelo, Miss.; two daughters: Lenora Sitzes and Denale Hess, both of Charleston; one sister, Pat Blake, of St. Louis; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in Charleston. Private graveside services will be Monday with Bro. Gerald Collier, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Charleston, officiating.
