EAST PRAIRIE -- Harry Grissom, 63, of rural East Prairie died Saturday, April 1, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 21, 1931, in East Prairie, son of Roland and Sarah White Grisssom. He married Frances Morris Dec. 30, 1971.

He had lived most of his life in Mississippi County where he was a self-employed carpenter. He served in the army during the Korean War and was a member of the First Baptist Church in East Prairie.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Keith Grissom of East Prairie; a daughter, Eva Chance of East Prairie; a stepson, Andy Ambrose of Cape Girardeau; a stepdaughter, Rhonda Overman of Marietta, Ga.; two sisters, Minnie Maloney and Mary Magdalene Douglas, both of East Prairie; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, a brother, a half-brother and a half-sister.

Friends may call today after 3 p.m. at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where the funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m. George White and Amos Johnson will officiate, with burial in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
