CHARLESTON - Harry D. Lane, 74, of Belleville, Ill., formerly of Mississippi County, died Tuesday, May 5, 1992 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville.
He was born in Mississippi County June 28, 1917 to the late Alexander and Mary Messmore Lane and had lived in Belleville since 1975.
Lane worked as a farmer until his retirement. He was of the Baptist faith.
On Nov. 7, 1936, he married Bell Lovell Lane, who survives in East Prairie.
Surviving as well are a son, Ronnie Lane of Charleston, and daughters Patsy Syfrett of Vidor, Texas; Norma Freeman of El Centro, Calif.; Judy Owens of East Prairie; and Linda Jackson of Charleston.
A sister, Dolly Thornton of East Prairie, and 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren also survive. A son, two brothers, and a sister preceded Lane in death.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
The Rev. Jim Romine, pastor of Cornerstone General Baptist Church of Bertrand, will officiate.
Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
