ANNA, Ill. -- Funeral service for Harry Belcher of Anna will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Jonesboro, with the Revs. Phil Nelson and Floyd Dorris officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna from 6-8 p.m. today, and Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Belcher, 79, died Monday, Oct. 14, 1996, at his home.
He was born Jan. 6, 1917, in Wolf Lake, son of Roy and Dora Boyce Belcher. He and Mary Gillespie were married Aug. 7, 1940.
Belcher was employed 38 years with Illinois Central Railroad, retiring as a conductor. He served on the S.S. Flyaway with the U.S. Coast Guard, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Gary Belcher of Denver, Colo.; two brothers, Willis and Carroll Belcher of Anna.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and brother.
