CHARLESTON -- Harrison Epps, 99, of Charleston died Monday, April 8, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Aug. 29, 1896, at Olyphant, Ark., son of Joseph and Emma Redmond Epps. He and Emma Small were married April 20, 1939.
Epps was a retired farmer.
Survivors are his wife; four daughters, Dorothy Jefferson of Kalamazoo, Mich., Queen Ester Thomas of Charleston, Ida Ellison of Addison, Ill., and Mildred Jones of St. Louis; seven sons, Benny Epps of Kalamazoo, Mich., Louis Macklin of Kansas city, John Joe Epps and James Epps, both of Indianapolis, Ind., Bobby Lee Epps and Willie Earl Epps, both of Charleston, and Charles Epps of Chllicothe; a brother, James Epps of Newport, Ark.; 73 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters, three sons and a daughter.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at the St. Mathews Baptist Church in Charleston.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Lavern Frazier officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston.
Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
