Harold Wooldridge

Harold S. Wooldridge, 98, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Benton, Mo., died Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 31, 1916, in Mayfield, Mo., to Franklin S. and Olga J. Mayfield Wooldridge. He and Verla M. Mayfield were married Sept. 4, 1937, in Cape Girardeau.

Harold was a team leader at Sports Specialties and a manager at Ludlow. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Benton.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Verla of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Wooldridge; a brother; and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Unity Church.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Unity Baptist Cemetery.
