Harold Robert Pruitt Sr., 82, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, July 16, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Harold Robert Pruitt Sr., 82, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, July 16, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 3, 1924, in Cape Girardeau, son of Otis and Mae Elizabeth Angle Pruitt. He and Betty Chansler were married in Osceola, Ark., and she preceded him in death.

Pruitt was an avid fisherman and ham radio operator.

Survivors include four sons, George William Pruitt of Cape Girardeau, Kenneth Ray Pruitt of Arnold, Mo., Harold R. Pruitt Jr. of Egypt Mills and Mike Pruitt of Osage Beach, Mo.; three daughters, Mary Elizabeth Tripp of Hollister, Mo., Lisa Stewart of Commerce and Pam Slattery of Cape Girardeau; one stepson, Tim Bell of Cape Girardeau; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating. Burial will be at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
