Harold B. Moore Jr., 82, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, at the Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 5, 1937, in Hickman, Kentucky, to Harold B. Moore Sr. and Dula Mae Ray Moore. He and Mary Emily Hope were married Oct. 6, 1973, at First Presbyterian Church. She preceded him in death Nov. 12, 2015.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a past exalted ruler of Elk’s Lodge No. 639 in Cape Girardeau and member of Cape Girardeau Eagles Aerie No. 3775. He was chairman of the flag day golf committee from 1996 to 2006 and a past president for Semo Senior Golf Association. He retired from Union Pacific railroad after 38 years.

Survivors include one son, Rick B.(JoeAnn) Moore of Dalhart, Texas; one daughter, Bobbie J. Gray of Scott City; two brothers, Bob (Mary Bell) Moore of Scott City and David Moore of Scott City; three grandchildren, Kelsey McPherson, Kyla Workman and Ryan Gray; and six great-grandchildren, Zae McPherson, Kade McPherson, Grayson Workman, Makenzie Workman, Molly Gray and Elly Gray.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Billy Moore and Johnny Moore.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with an Elks service at 7 p.m., at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Missouri Veterans Home and the American Cancer Society.
