ORAN, Mo. -- Andrew Harold Kielhofner, 93, of Oran passed away Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. ORAN, Mo. -- Andrew Harold Kielhofner, 93, of Oran passed away Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.

Harold was born Oct. 9, 1925, in Chaffee, Missouri, to the late Andrew and Regina Halter Kielhofner. He married Luella Mary Hamm on April 10, 1948, and she survives in Cape Girardeau.

Harold was a self-employed farmer for more than 40 years and retired in 1989. He was a very active member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee. He was a member of the St. Ambrose Men's Club and the Oran Knights of Columbus Council 4311. Harold voluntarily cared for St. Ambrose Cemetery for 25 years. He was an avid gardener and loved playing cards, hunting and fishing. He served in the Merchant Marines for two years during World War II.

He is survived by his loving wife, Luella Kielhofner of Cape Girardeau; daughters, Andrea (Bob) Sachse of Cape Girardeau, Connie (Ken) Newton of St. Joseph, Missouri, Dr. Marcia Kielhofner (Ed Hudson) of Sugar Land, Texas, and Gail (Tim) Smith of Hillsboro, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Dr. Renee Taylor of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; sister, Mary Radake of St. Louis; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Gary Kielhofner; his parents; and two sisters.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. Friday, followed by a Knights of Columbus prayer service.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop as celebrant. Burial will be at the church cemetery, with full military rights.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Ambrose Catholic Church or Alzheimer's Association.
