JACKSON -- Harold James Platt, 75, of Jackson died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 3, 1924, in Haxton, Colo., the son of H.H. and Ethel Spurlock Platt. He and Colleen Cameron were married May 22, 1946, in Cape Girardeau.
He was employed for many years as a druggist at the former Fulenwider Drug Store in Jackson and retired in 1992 from Jackson Rexall Drug. He graduated form Ava High School in Ava and attended the University of Missouri in Columbia.
He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael E. Platt of Jackson and Jeffery L. Platt of Tucson, Ariz; a daughter, Sharon Bennett of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Larry D. Platt of Granbury, Texas; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. John Rice officiating. Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery.
