SIKESTON, Mo. -- Harold R. Floyd, 77, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 11, 1927, in Benton, Mo., son of Ernest and Grace Dark Floyd. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of Operating Engineers Local 513.
Survivors include a son, Vernon Wayne Floyd of Buffalo, N.Y.; a daughter, Connie Sue McCumber of Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Carl Floyd of Eureka, Mo., Jerry Floyd of Cedar Hill, Mo., Willard Floyd of Sikeston; two sisters, Luella Bradish of St. Louis, Barbara Johnson of Sikeston; one granddaughter; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Tom McCanless officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo.
