Harland Davis

Harland J. Davis of Scott City, son of the late Edgar Davis and Jane Hester Davis, was born Aug. 29, 1937, in Granite City, Illinois, and departed his life Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau at the age of 85 years.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force (airman 2nd class), and former employee as a mechanical engineer at McDonald-Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis.

He was a member of Commerce Baptist Church and Cape Girardeau Eagles 3775.

Survivors include a host of cousins, Ruth Ann (Joe) Carder of Delta, David (Nancy) Hester of Delta, Nancy Stoffregen of Delta, Al (Delores) Hester of Illinois, Maebell (Alvin) Scheare of Delta, Mabeline (Junior) Bartels of Delta, Martha Nelson of Cape Girardeau, Francis (Mike) Hannah of Texas, Rusalyn Andrews of Kansas and Toby Davis.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 22, at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Missouri.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 23, in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. David Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Kenyon Cemetery near Delta.

The family has requested that donations be made to Commerce Baptist Church or to Kenyon Cemetery Association.
