PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Harlan L. Petzoldt, 77, of Perryville died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at Perry County Nursing Home.

He was born Dec. 9, 1929, at New Wells, Mo., son of Anton and Edna Koenig Petzoldt. He and Shirley Meyer were married Nov. 4, 1960.

Petzoldt retired from Giesler Brothers Ready Mix. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and its Men's Club, American Legion Post 133, VFW Post 4282, Amvets, and volunteered for a number of charities.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Anthony Petzoldt of St. Louis, Christopher Petzoldt of Perryville; an adopted son, Michael Petzoldt of Perryville; a stepson, John Cusumano of Denver, Colo.; a stepdaughter, Tina Cusumano of Cape Girardeau; five brothers, Tillmon and Pearl Petzoldt of Perryville, Harold Petzoldt of St. Louis, Herbert Petzoldt of New Wells, Junior Petzoldt of Pocahontas; two sisters, Ardene Koenig of Arnold, Mo., Shirleen Mueller of Perryville; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and Saturday from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. An American Legion wake will be held at 7 tonight.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Christopher Cole will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 4282.
