Gusta A. Boren, 91, formerly of Jackson, passed away Friday, June 30, 2006, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 24, 1914, in Pocahontas, daughter of Alvin and Alvina Koenig Pfeiffer. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas. Her membership was transferred to St. Paul Lutheran Church in 1975, where she was a faithful member.
Gusta married Clarence Boren June 27, 1932. They were married 51 years, enjoyed farming together, and were well known in the farming communities around Jackson. Clarence passed away Nov. 26, 1983.
Loving survivors include three children, a daughter, Geraldine (the late Gene) Leimbach of Jackson and their children, Mark (Leslie) Leimbach, Mary (Donald) Runnels; two sons, Allen (Mary Ann) Boren of Jackson and their children, Lori (Frank) Zieba and Lynn Boren; Roy (Jane) Boren of Jackson and their children, Rick (Mary) Boren, Sheri (Brad) Twaddle; and eight great-grandchildren, Brett and Kylie Leimbach, Lauren Touchette, Drew and Zander Zieba, Kathleen and Owen Twaddle, and Stephen Eddington.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Ervin, Fred, Victor and William Pfeiffer; and two sisters, Rufie Ruehling and Hattie Hahs.
Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be Monday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
