ANNA, Ill. -- Funeral service for Grace Ellen Choate of Anna will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Gospel Assembly Church. The Revs. Dennis Fitzsimmons, Walter Stevenson and John Marlow will officiate, with burial in Anna Cemetery.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna after 5 p.m. today, Sunday until 1 p.m., and then at the church until service time.

Choate died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997, on her 105th birthday, at Union County Hospital.

She was born Oct. 2, 1892, near Wolf Lake, daughter of Henry and Mary Nicholaides Brown. She first married Thomas J. Adams, who died in 1915. She later married James Isaac Choate June 17, 1917. He died March 7, 1945.

Choate was a founding member of Gospel Assembly Church, and life member of Townsend F. Dodd American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Adams and Clyde Choate of Anna; three daughters, Creta Yates and Dortha Ballance of Anna, Ethel Marlow of Bradenton, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Ivern Fuller of Granite City; 24 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, two stepsons, and two stepdaughters.
