GORDON SMITH

DU QUOIN, Ill. -- Gordon Raymond Smith, 54, of Du Quoin and formerly of Jonesboro, died Saturday, March 13, 1999, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.

He was born Jan. 8, 1945, in Jonesoboro, son of Roy Lee and Thelma Bloodworth Smith. He married Darlene Sue Rulevish July 3, 1998, in Du Quoin.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Roger and Jeff Smith, both of Du Quoin; a daughter, Lisa Smith of Du Quoin; a stepdaughter, Lisa Pfeiffer; two stepsons, Bobby and Joe Rulevish; four brothers, Bob, Charles, Bill and Donald Smith, all of Kankakee; two sisters, Marrietta Henleben and Evelyn Jackson, both of St. Louis; and six grandchildren.

Smith was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a factory worker.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bon Reynolds officiating. Cremation will follow.
