Goldie M. Darnell, 87, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 5, 1930, in Whitewater to Herbert and Alta Chapman Green. She and Donald Darnell were married Nov. 22, 1956, at New Salem United Methodist Church in Daisy, Missouri.
Goldie was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson and a former member of New Salem United Methodist Church in Daisy.
Loving survivors include her husband of 61 years, Don Darnell of Jackson; two children, Janette (Ron) Hobeck of Daisy and Glenn Darnell of Jackson; three grandchildren, Kyle Hobeck of Daisy, Darrin Hobeck of Friedheim and Stacy Hobeck of Daisy; two great-grandchildren, Konnor Hobeck and Ally Beckerman; three brothers, Ray (Jean) Green of Whitewater, Loyd "Don" (Marge) Green of Park City, Kentucky, and Jerry (Sue) Green of Sedgewickville, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Nelda (the late Gilbert) Green of Jackson and Erma (the late Bill) Burke of Murphysboro, Illinois; two brothers-in-law, David (the late Charlotte) Boucher of Lyons, Indiana, and Bill (Shirley) Boucher of Minooka, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gilbert Green.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson or the cemetery fund of New Salem United Methodist Church in Daisy.
