EAST PRAIRIE -- Goldia Denton Benson, 75, East Prairie Route 2, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 12, 1918, at Fisk, daughter of Guy D. and Mary A. Hutcheson Beck. She and J.B. Benson were married Nov. 20, 1936.

The Bensons owned and operated a Massey Ferguson dealership. She taught school in Mississippi County, served on the committee of the Drinkwater Pumping Station, past member of Mississippi County Health Department, former judge of Mississippi County Court, served on the Head Start Board, and was active in Retired Senior Volunteer Program here.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, LaDona DeKriek of Sikeston; a brother, Cleo Beck of Ellington; a sister, Allien Waller of Sikeston; three grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shelby Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Clinton Wofford will officiate, with burial in IOOF Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:30-9 p.m. today.
