TAMMS, Ill. -- Gloria Jean Miller, 80, of Tamms passed away at 5:21 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
Gloria was born June 9, 1942, to Ralph and Nellie Wehrenberg Wilson.
In her early years, she worked as a beautician and then began her career as a shipping clerk for Servicemaster in Cairo, Illinois.
In Gloria's free time, she enjoyed spending time with family, flower gardening, landscaping, going out to eat and traveling. She was a member the First Baptist Church in Tamms and Farm Bureau. She was an avid Cardinals baseball fan and enjoyed attending many games. Gloria was always very active in supporting her sons' military careers as well as their teammates.
Survivors include her sons, Johnny (Anne) Miller and Michael (Beverly) Miller Sr., both of Tamms; grandchild, Michael Miller Jr. of Tamms; sister-in-law, Barbara Wilson of Turlock, California; and nephew, Kenneth Wilson of Turlock.
In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by a brother, Myron Wilson.
A time of visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.
A funeral service honoring the life of Gloria Jean Miller will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bob Kirby officiating. Interment will follow at Spencer Heights Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Tamms. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
