Gloria M. Kiehne, 82, of Jackson died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at her home. She was born March 3, 1921, in Batesville, Ark., daughter of Adolph and Alma Walker Mohrstadt. She and Harold F. Kiehne were married Feb. 18, 1939. He died Oct. 2, 1972. Mrs. Kiehne was a director nine years at Jackson Public Library, retiring in 1986. ...

Gloria M. Kiehne, 82, of Jackson died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at her home.

She was born March 3, 1921, in Batesville, Ark., daughter of Adolph and Alma Walker Mohrstadt. She and Harold F. Kiehne were married Feb. 18, 1939. He died Oct. 2, 1972.

Mrs. Kiehne was a director nine years at Jackson Public Library, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ, General Federated Women's Clubs, Sierra Club, Green Peace, Nature Conservancy, Jackson Park Board, charter member of Chapter LA of PEO, past president of Lydia Kies Circle of the church, member and past president of Jackson Heritage Association.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. James H. and Anita Kiehne of St. Louis; two daughters and sons-in-law, Liz and Jesse Perry of Farmington, Mo., Kris Kiehne and Tom Cumpston of Placerville, Calif.; four grandchildren, Matthew and Nathan Kiehne, Nici and Perry Smith, and Joel Perry; a great-grandson, Christian; and a special friend, Bern Schaper of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue; a brother, Adolph Mohrstadt; and a great-grandson, Wyatt.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Emanuel United Church of Christ. The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will officiate.

Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southeast Hospice, Jackson Public Library or Emanuel United Church of Christ.
