Glennon J. Braun, 79, of Missouri Veterans Home died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 31, 1927, at St. Mary, Mo., son of Lawrence H. and Agnes Burgert Braun. He and Pauline Layton were married Jan. 31, 1950, in Sikeston, Mo.
Braun was a railway agent 37 years with Frisco and Burlington Northern railroads. He was also a cabinet builder and wood crafter, and built the altar and lectern at Immaculate Conception Church in St. Mary. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau and was a 3rd Degree member of Knights of Columbus.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry Braun of Benton, Mo., Mike Braun of Maryville, Tenn.; a daughter, Susan Sellers of Owensville, Mo.; a brother, James Braun of Bartlesville, Okla.; two sisters, Doris Oberle of Cape Girardeau, Barbara West of Alexandria, La.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Thomas Kiefer will officiate.
