Glenn E. Schearf, 88, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018, at Missouri Veterans Home.
He was born Nov. 3, 1929, in Kankakee, Illinois, to Phillip and Myrtle Stoffregen Schearf. He married Virginia Benefield in 1951.
Glenn proudly served this country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Western Electric in May 1983. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Schearf of Cape Girardeau; a son, James (Peggy) Schearf of Cape Girardeau; a grandson, Robert (Cassie) Schearf of Delta; a granddaughter, Veronica Schearf of Delta; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Alvin and Gene Schearf of Delta and Elmer Schearf of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Mary Campbell of St. Louis; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Schearf; and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Mitchell Jackson officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Southeast Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
