Glenn W. "Spider" Fronabarger, 84, of Oak Ridge, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 13, 1920, in Oak Ridge, son of Albert M. and Shrilda Sawyer Fronabarger. He and Mary Dale Jones were married April 25, 1947, in Jackson.
Fronabarger was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy on the USS Minnesota from 1944 to 1946. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge. He was an avid fruit grower, owning and operating his own orchard near Oak Ridge for many years. Fronabarger also farmed and worked in construction.
Loving survivors include his wife, Mary Dale of Oak Ridge; a son, Wayne Fronabarger and his wife, Marilyn, of Oak Ridge; a brother, Dale Fronabarger of Oak Ridge; a granddaughter, Kelly Fronabarger, and a grandson, Darin Fronabarger, both of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Fronabarger, and an infant sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11 at the funeral home with the Rev. Jon Sedgwick officiating.
Burial will follow in Goshen Cemetery near Oak Ridge with graveside military honors.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge or to the Goshen Cemetery.
