SEDGEWICKVILLE -- Glen S. Statler, 86, of Ste. Genevieve, died Monday, July 29, 1996, at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 24, 1910, at Sedgewickville, son of Adolph and Ida Seabaugh Statler. He and Francis Hudson were married Dec. 20, 1939.
Statler farmed in the Sedgewickville community most of his life. During World War II he worked at Kaiser Shipyards in California. He returned here in 1945 and resumed farming and also was a carpenter with Elmer Proctor Construction Co. a number of years. He retired in 1965. Statler moved to Ste. Genevieve in September 1995.
He was a lifelong member of Sedgewickville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two brothes, Verlin Statler of St. Charles, Merlin Statler of Burfordville, and a sister, Hazel Seabaugh of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sedgewickville Church, with the Rev. Michael Davis officiating. Burial will be in Sedgewickville Cemetery.
