Glen H. Friedrich, 80, of Oak Ridge died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 13, 1923, in Advance, Mo., son of Charles and Agnes Barker Friedrich. He and Velma Corrine Gloth were married March 8, 1949. She died Aug. 1, 1997.
Friedrich farmed near Oak Ridge most of his life. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 158. He had lived at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau since August.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two daughters, Lorene Backfish of Benton, Mo., Linda Putz of Millersville; three brothers, Harl Friedrich of Whitewater, Earl Friedrich of Jackson, Vincent Friedrich of Oak Ridge; a sister, Vivian Schneider of Jackson; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 5 to 8 p.m. today, and after 1 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul Lutheran Church. An American Legion service will be held at 7 tonight.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park, with a military honors service.
