GLADYS STAMP

THEBES, Ill. -- Gladys M. Stamp, 72, of Thebes died Tuesday, March 4, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 17, 1925, in Thebes, daughter of Archie and Runa Tucker Guess. She married Delmar H. "Red" Stamp, who died Jan. 20, 1992.

Stamp was a clerk at Thebes Post Office 30 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Steven Jones of Thebes; a daughter, Pamela Hocking of Cache; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister and brother.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carl Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
