Gladys Inez Simms, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, June 17, 2012, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born May 15, 1920, in Miland, Tenn., to John Henry and Matty Valdora Duck Edgin.

Gladys was an avid gardener, enjoyed canning vegetables and was an Avon representative.

Survivors include a son, Steve Simms of St. Louis; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Simms; two sons, Charles W. and Danny J. Simms; and a daughter, Sherry A. Harris.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
