GLADYS MOODY

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Funeral for Gladys Moody of San Diego, Calif., formerly of Sikeston, will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Dale McFarland will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Moody, 90, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, at her home.

She was born Sept. 16, 1910, in Portageville, Mo., daughter of Leonard and Otta Hayes Baynes. She and Burl W. Moody were married Feb. 16, 1929, at Caruthersville, Mo. He died Oct. 17, 1989.

Moody had owned and operated Moody's Grocery at East Prairie, Mo. She was a member of Illinois Avenue General Baptist Church in Sikeston.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Henderson of San Diego; two granddaughters; and a great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, three brothers, and two sisters.
