SIKESTON, Mo. -- Funeral for Gladys Maxwell of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home. The Rev. Harold Norton will officiate. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie, Mo.
Maxwell, 85, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born May 18, 1915, in Louisville, Ky., daughter of Rufus and Jennie Deets Stallings. She and Harland G. Maxwell were married April 12, 1941.
Maxwell was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband.; a son, Jerry Maxwell of East Prairie; a daughter, Myrna Johnson of Sikeston; two sisters, Flossie LeMaster of Somonauk, Ill., Viola French of New Madrid, Mo.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
