Gladys Irene Scheper, 67, 1109 rear Merriwether, died Monday, July 22, 1991, at her home. She was born Aug. 18, 1923, at Bloomfield, daughter of Otto and Mary V. Haynes Baylor. She married Charles F. Scheper May 17, 1942. He died in 1982. Scheper had worked at St. Francis Medical Center 28 years, and was a member of First Assembly of God Church...

Gladys Irene Scheper, 67, 1109 rear Merriwether, died Monday, July 22, 1991, at her home.

She was born Aug. 18, 1923, at Bloomfield, daughter of Otto and Mary V. Haynes Baylor. She married Charles F. Scheper May 17, 1942. He died in 1982.

Scheper had worked at St. Francis Medical Center 28 years, and was a member of First Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include a son, Gary Scheper of Jackson; a daughter, Karen McLane of Oak Ridge; a brother, James Baylor of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Marie Moore of Cape Girardeau, and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Eldon Baylor, and a sister, Victoria Seabaugh.

Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. Rodney Shipman will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
