Gladys Marie Hanebrink, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 29, 1914, in Monette, Ark., daughter of Wiley Grant and Frankie Ann Meurer Bowden. She and Lawrence E. Hanebrink were married April 17, 1938, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills, Mo. He preceded her in death Dec. 14, 1987.
Mrs. Hanebrink was raised in Cape Girardeau. She moved to Washington, D.C., after getting married and then to the St. Louis area before moving back to Cape Girardeau in January 2005.
She was a bookkeeper for the Normandy School District. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Egypt Mills, Mo., and a member of Dudes 'n Dolls and Double R's Square Dancing Clubs in St. Louis, and the Normandy Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by her son, Lawrence E. Hanebrink Jr. and his wife, Joyce, of Chesterfield, Mo.; brother, Warren Bowden and his wife, Hazel, of St. Louis; brother-in-law, Dallas Miller of Cape Girardeau; sister-in-law, Pauline Hanebrink of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren, Kelly Keel and husband, Fritz, of Castorland, N.Y., and Kathy Dibbert and husband, David, of Hazelwood, Mo.; and great-grandchild, Jesse William Keel.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be at noon Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home with the Revs. Denis Wittenberger and Kevin Olson officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Egypt Mills, Mo.
