Gladys Anne "Nanny" Gaunce passed from this earth Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.
Gladys was born to Riley and Marie Batts on April 16, 1931, in Memphis, Tennessee.
Known for her stylish flair, she could always be found sporting her favorite hats and tie-dye dresses. She had many passions, which included plants, gardening, baking, listening to the birds sing their songs outside, crafting fabric dolls and drawing. She was a longtime member of Christ Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Bruce) Watson; son, David (Amy) Gaunce; grandchildren, John David Perry, Laurie Everett and Brooke Watson; and great-grandchildren, Madison, Gavin, Fletcher, Chase, Cash and Kate.
Nanny was truly one of a kind, and her tenacity and spunky attitude will be missed beyond belief.
There will be a private family service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 101 N. Fountain St., Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
