Gladys F. Dailey, 87, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 10, 1915, at Wolf Lake, Ill., daughter of McKinley W. and Cynthia Ida Leek Butterfield. She and Lester Dailey were married Aug. 7, 1938, at Jackson, Mo. He died Jan. 24, 1997.
Dailey had lived in Cape Girardeau since 1977. She did religious counseling for 15 years and was a volunteer with many organizations. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church; Friendly Craft Club; Fort D, Colonial, and Jackson senior citizen groups.
Survivors include a son, Larry Dailey of Bethalto, Ill.; a daughter, Shirley Poole of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Bill and Mack Butterfield; five sisters, Mary Eaves and Georgia Emery of Metropolis, Ill., Betty Grace and Janice Morris of Paducah, Ky., Dimple Brinker of Brookport, Ill.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
