PERRYVILLE -- Gilbert P. Buchheit, 67, of Perryville died Monday, Jan. 13, 1997, at Perry County Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 28, 1929, in Perry County, son of Thomas and Ida Krieger Buchheit. He had worked for the city of Perryville Maintenance Department, was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, was a member of American Legion Post 133, VFW Post 4282, American Veterans Post 94 and Perryville Elks Lodge 2701...

PERRYVILLE -- Gilbert P. Buchheit, 67, of Perryville died Monday, Jan. 13, 1997, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Aug. 28, 1929, in Perry County, son of Thomas and Ida Krieger Buchheit. He had worked for the city of Perryville Maintenance Department, was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, was a member of American Legion Post 133, VFW Post 4282, American Veterans Post 94 and Perryville Elks Lodge 2701.

He is survived by seven brothers, Percy Buchheit of Perryville, Henry Buchheit of Yuma, Ariz., Dennis, Ronald, Tom and Paul Buchheit, all of St. Louis, and Chauncy Buchheit of Ste. Genevieve; and five sisters, Eunice Schott and Zita Brancio, both of Denver, Lela Buerck of Perryville, and Betty Nahlic and Patty Vogel, both of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and 6:30 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday, at the Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A Catholic wake will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, followed by an American Legion wake at 7:15.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul, with the Rev. Keven Fausz officiating. Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery.
