CAIRO, Ill. -- Gertrude Cook, 99, of Cairo died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at Daystar Care Center. She was born July 9, 1900, in Pulaski County, daughter of William Jasper and Anna Ellen Nelms Kinslow. She and Shannon H. Cook were married Sept. 21, 1947. He died Aug. 12, 1988...

CAIRO, Ill. -- Gertrude Cook, 99, of Cairo died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at Daystar Care Center.

She was born July 9, 1900, in Pulaski County, daughter of William Jasper and Anna Ellen Nelms Kinslow. She and Shannon H. Cook were married Sept. 21, 1947. He died Aug. 12, 1988.

Cook was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.

Survivors include two stepdaughters, Betty Webster of Piedmont, Mo., Jeri Sauerbrunn of Jonesboro; three stepsons, Kenneth Cook of Tacoma, Wash., Donald Milton of Anna and Arvil Milton of Jonesboro.

She was preceded in death by a stepson, two brothers and a sister.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Southern Baptist Church, with the Rev. Raymond Oxford officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call at the church after 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Crain Funeral Home of Anna is in charge of arrangements.
