SIKESTON -- Gertrude Berry, 85, of Sikeston died Friday, March 7, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 12, 1911, in Covington, Tenn., daughter of Noel R. and Mary Antoinette Patmor Billings. She and Edward H. Berry were married March 19, 1934, in Memphis, Tenn. He died Feb. 14, 1974.
The Berrys moved to Sikeston in 1940 from Memphis. She was an accountant 38 years with Berry, Patmor and Day Accounting Firm, retiring in 1978. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include a son, Edward Berry Jr. of Sikeston; a daughter, Cassandra Peterson of Oceanside, Calif.; a brother, David Billings of Franklin, Tenn.; a sister, Antoinette Gardner of Eugene, Ore.; four grandsons; and a great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by six brothers.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Ed Pangburn officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
