GERMAINE SCHLITT

ORAN -- Germaine M. Schlitt, 82, of Oran died Wednesday, May 20, 1998, at the Chaffee Nursing Center.

She was born Feb. 9, 1916, at Oran, daughter of August Jacob and Emma Marie Schlosser Welter.

She married Mose L. Schlitt on June 2, 1936. He died Jan. 11, 1979.

She was a homemaker and attended Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran where she was a member of the St. Ann Sodality.

She is survived by three sons, Jerome Schlitt and Gerald Schlitt, both of rural Oran, and Alfred Schlitt of rural Chaffee; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandchild, three brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be today after 5 p.m. at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, with parish prayers at 7 and Knights of Columbus prayer service at 7:30. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church, with the Revs. Lewis Hejna and Allan Saunders officiating. Burial will be at Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery.
