JONESBORO, Ill. -- Geri Patterson, 78, of Jonesboro died suddenly Saturday, May 3, 2014, at home.
She was born Feb. 13, 1936, in Union County, the daughter of Lindsey and Mamie Elizabeth Gibbs Tibbs. She and Kirby L. Patterson were married March 8, 1953, and he preceded her in death Nov. 16, 2013.
Geri was a member of Community Faith Church in Anna, Illinois. She graduated from Shawnee College School of Nursing and worked as an LPN at area health care facilities.
Survivors include two daughters, Pam Patterson of Anna and Debbie (Cliff) Bryan of Jonesboro; two sons, Kirby (Donna) Patterson of Anna and James Patterson of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Lane (Ashley) Patterson, Lindsey Patterson, Hannah, Anthony, Tristan and Diana Patterson and Michael Bryan; two sisters, Shirley (Bob) Penrod of Swartz Creek, Michigan, and Janice (Frank) Murray of Anna; two brothers, Vernon Tibbs of Meta, Missouri, and Leon Graves of Tulsa, Oklahoma; nieces; nephews; and other relatives.
Besides her husband and parents, she also was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Patterson in 1960; a sister, Donna Bishop; two brothers, Charlie Tibbs and Bill Graves; and stepbrother James Graves.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Bon Reynolds and Richard Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in Casper Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Community Faith Church and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
