Gerhardt W. Werner, 75, 317 Sheridan, died Tuesday, June 4, 1991, at his home. He was born Feb. 1, 1916, at Tilsit, son of William and Elizabeth Werner. He and the former Audrey M. Pence were married Aug. 4, 1950. She died Feb. 9, 1987. Werner worked with his brother at Werner Market and at Thoni's Oil Co. many years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and VFW Post 3838. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II...

He was born Feb. 1, 1916, at Tilsit, son of William and Elizabeth Werner. He and the former Audrey M. Pence were married Aug. 4, 1950. She died Feb. 9, 1987.

Werner worked with his brother at Werner Market and at Thoni's Oil Co. many years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and VFW Post 3838. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include two stepsons, Fred Goza of Wauconda, Ill., Joe Goza of Cape Girardeau; six stepgrandchildren, and six great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Louis Launhardt will officiate, with burial in Lorimier Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
