Gerhard "Gary" W. Bergt, 77, of Altenburg, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 1992 at the Jackson Manor.

He was born Nov. 28, 1914 in Frohna, son of Gottfried and Emma Mueller Bergt.

He was a retired truck driver and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenberg.

He married Elda A. Weinhold on Nov. 20, 1941. She survives.

Other survivors are two sons, Gary Bergt of Kansas City, Mo. and Don Bergt of Altenburg; two daughters, Carol Hurston and Kathy Schuessler, both of St. Louis; two brothers, Herbert Bergt and Erwin Bergt, both of St. Louis; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Friends may call Wednesday after 5 p.m. at the Young & Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg and until 8:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, officiated by the Rev. Willard Kassulke. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
