Geraldine Stroder, 93, of Jackson died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Monticello House.
She was born Nov. 16, 1917, in Whitewater to Edwin Lawrence and Lillian Allen McGuire. She and John Alexander Stroder were married March 31, 1934. He died March 23, 1975.
Geraldine had been a cook for Hayes Barge Line, Fruitland School and Mac McDowell. She was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry (Katie) Stroder of O'Fallon, Mo., Larry (Linda) Stroder and Gary Stroder of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Elwanda Seabaugh of Jackson, Shirley (W.C.) Pfeiffer of DuQuoin, Ill.; a brother, George (Red) McGuire of Jackson; a sister, Kathleen Wilson of Jackson; a sister-in-law, Wanda McGuire of Jackson; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Vicki Stroder; a son-in-law, Kenneth E. Seabaugh; a brother, Cecil; two sisters, Lorene and Helen; and Helen's daughter, Peggy.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
