Memorial service for Gerald Lee Slinkard of Hastings, Neb., will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Gazebo at Memorial Park. The Rev. Harold Henderson will officiate.
There is no visitation.
Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Slinkard, 65, died Monday, Oct. 5, 1992, at Grand Island Veterans Hospital in Grand Island, Neb.
He was born July 2, 1927, in Cape Girardeau, son of Jesse and Carrie Overbeck Slinkard.
He was a graduate of Central High School, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Slinkard moved to Hastings in 1946 from Cape Girardeau. He was employed by the Navy Ammunition Depot there a number of years, owned and operated Jerry's Skelly Station, and had been a self-employed truck driver.
He was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans, all in Hastings.
Survivors include a son, Stephen Slinkard of Hastings; a brother, Jay Slinkard of Cape Girardeau, and two grandchildren.
